‘Khoj’, meaning quest in Hindi, was the theme of our 2023-24 Mela.
All groups focused on different aspects of science, from sounds to ecology. It all came together in February, on two unforgettable days:
On Day 1, the entire school performed a play- not once, but twice at Courtyard Koota. The play explored the achievements in science over the centuries that mankind has been on a quest. The time machine was the string holding these different timelines together, and our students traversed through time to meet different people all over the world. Over the year, children learned acting, prop-making, and more. Tushit, a parent at Ohana, helped make a life-sized time machine for the set!
On Day 2, the stalls on the main campus were ready and awaiting the parents. Each class took great care to explore their theme in detail through different mediums- writing, art, machinery, music, food and photography. There were three types of stalls: do-it-yourself, display, and demonstrations. Vishaka, an art teacher from Shibumi, taught students about the intersection of toys and science through the toy lab (Cheela dalli Leela).
